Physiotherapy is a science-based profession. It helps restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. Physiotherapy treatment consists of movement and exercise, manual therapy, electrotherapy, education and advice.
When an injury, illness or disability affects the communication pathways between the brain and the body, control of muscles, posture and movement can be severely impaired. Fortunately the brain has an enormous capacity to “re-learn”; this is where Neurological Physiotherapy comes in. With education, appropriate “hands-on” manual therapy techniques, and specially devised exercise programs; and with commitment and participation from you; communication pathways between the body and the brain can be re-established and re-trained.
We take a holistic “whole person” approach to your health, wellbeing and recovery at Jo Pritchard's Neuro Physio Practice. This may include educating you and your family or carers, so practice and improvements can continue outside of the “Physiotherapy treatment” setting.
Neurological Physiotherapy aims to re-align your body, reconnect your mind & rediscover “normal” movement patterns.
